Elevating Downtown Lethbridge Through Digital Storytelling

As the Social Media Manager for Downtown Lethbridge BRZ, I was at the forefront of showcasing the energy, culture, and businesses that make downtown Lethbridge thrive. Through content creation, photography, videography, and telling the stories of people of downtown, I honed the organization's digital presence into a dynamic hub for community engagement and local business support.

Social Media & Content Strategy

I developed and executed a content strategy tailored to highlight the vibrancy of downtown Lethbridge. This included:

  • Photography & Videography: As the main photographer and videographer, I captured compelling visuals of local businesses, community events, and city life to build a strong visual identity.
  • Reels & Short-Form Video Content: Edited using DaVinci Resolve, I created high-energy, shareable videos that highlighted the unique aspects of downtown.
  • Graphic Design & Branding: As the sole graphic designer, I developed branding materials using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, ensuring visually appealing promotional assets.
  • Blogging & Copywriting: Writing feature stories, business spotlights, and community-driven content to strengthen the BRZ’s voice and digital footprint.
  • Meta Business Suite Management: Handling all social media scheduling, analytics, and audience engagement across Instagram & Facebook & TikTok.

Supporting Over 500 Local Businesses

I worked alongside a team of ambassadors to market and promote over 500 local businesses, but I was the only graphic designer on the team. Through tailored campaigns, I showcased local entrepreneurs, shops, and restaurants, fostering a sense of community and encouraging people to shop, dine, and explore downtown.

As part of the Downtown Lethbridge Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ) team, I was responsible for managing and enhancing the organization’s social media presence across various platforms. I specialized in photography, video production, and creating engaging social media content through videos and photos, using tools such as Lightroom, Photoshop, and DaVinci Resolve to deliver high-quality visuals. Meta Business Suite was used for all publishing across Instagram and Facebook.

I led marketing initiatives to bolster the visibility and success of over 500 local businesses, showcasing their unique offerings through business spotlights, ‘People of Downtown’ interviews, and tailored copywriting. My work involved crafting compelling blog posts and social media updates that captured the vibrancy of the downtown area, as well as the essence of local events, businesses, and community stories. Through strategic content creation and digital storytelling, I increased community engagement, drove foot traffic to local businesses, and contributed to the ongoing revitalization of downtown Lethbridge.
